1: tasteful grammar and syntax, suzy.
2. Maybe for some fans, paying (or selling) over face is acceptable. For many fans, it isnt. Especially for old fans. Paying/selling over face encourages more scalpers, and ultimately rips off your fellow fans, and makes tickets more expensive and difficult for everyone. Old news, but still true.

I'll note that my comments to the author were temperate and non-hostile--I'd propose friendly, even. Hopefully his father takes note, and if any other impression was given, allow me to restate that my intention wasn't to be overtly rude or angry. I think my words speak for themselves, though.

Cash or Trade exists for a reason, and i encourage the author's father to use that outlet next time. They're doing great work over there.

I spent NYE in 200 level seats with numerous old fans who were happy to "deal" with the seats we acquired through legitimate sources. Would I rather have been in the 100s where the author's father (apparently) bought scalped tickets? Definitely. I wish i could have had those seats. I guess, for me, refusing to support scalpers and upholding the integrity of fan-to-fan ticket trading (i.e. no over-face sales) is more important than upgrading my spot.

My .02. Happy New Year to all of you, author and father included. As I have a distaste for internet warfare and hostile commentary, I won't be checking this thread again, but feel free to say hi at a show sometime, sincerely. I'll be glad to help you look for face value tickets. I'm not terrible at it. ;']
