humalupa I don't know how to feel about this. One reason I have enjoyed Beyond the Pond is that they gave voice to people like me, in that I have little interest in listening to jambands other than Phish, and would rather use that bandwidth to continue exploring other genres. I kind of fear that being absorbed into a larger sandbox is going to diminish their ability to essentially put the rest of the stereotypical jam scene on mute, and focus on other music, which I think has been integral to their independence and the success of their podcast. I just don't see how the core premise of BTP remains intact from here, and that's kind of a bummer, as I don't know that any other podcasters out there are taking their approach. I suppose I'll pour one out while listening to I Can Feel The Heart Beating As One...

It makes perfect sense that UTS and HFP combined forces, but I wish BTP had survived this merger. I hope Undermine can still make room for year-end best-album lists and the like, because as we all know, Phish myopia must be fought.
