Thank you to the more than 100 golfers who came together on August 31st at Willis Case in Denver in support of music education for children, and to the sponsors who helped make it such a special event. We raised thousands of dollars, and have started planning for the 10th (!!) Annual. Meanwhile, it's time to report results and share photos from the 2024 outing.
All players received a gift bag with an event-branded umbrella and picnic blanket, an assortment of Phish.net items (koozies, patches, stickers, etc.), and other items donated by sponsors. In addition, there were 14 prize bags containing pro shop credit plus event schwag from previous years (hats, visors, and water bottles). Thirteen of those prize bags went to these golf winners:
In addition, 24 prizes were raffled (one to each foursome), including LivePhish subscriptions, CashOrTrade membership, Merrell shoes, PhanArt packages, a Phish-related poetry book, shirts, hats, and $1,000 in legal services towards a will and trust donated by Lathrop GPM. Additional prizes were won from on-course contests run by Backswing. No one (yet) has taken home the $10,000 prize for our hole-in-one contest, but we hope to offer that option for a fourth time next year. (And much thanks to Mark Koenig, pictured bottom right with our tournament director, for serving as an oberserer for our hole-in-one contest!)
A 14th prize bag wen to John McCumsey (far left in the leftmost image above) for solving this year's Sponsor Sign Puzzle. In the corner of sponsor signs on 15 holes of the course, there was a date and either "first" or "last" (such as "8/30/24 first"), indicating the first or last word Phish sang at a previous Dick's show. Those 15 words in order made a sentence. For those of you who want to try their hand at it, we won’t spoil the fun:
We'd like to thank all of the incredible entities that sponsored holes, helped fill gift bags, and/or offered fabulous raffle prizes. These included heavy-hitters of the Phish community (WaterWheel, Nugs.net, & CashOrTrade), lot merch mavens (PhanArt, Grateful Fred, Surrender to the Flow, & ShowMerch), well-known golf brands (Merrell & Evolve Golf), Denver area relaxation mainstays (Baker Wine & Spirits, Ester’s Neighborhood Pub, Mountain Sun Pub, & Olio), and surprise and outsized support (B Elizabeth Beck & Lathrop GPM). Each played a pivotal role in our 9th Annual event, and we deeply appreciate their support!
Be sure to tag us in any pics you have from the day, or to email us any that you aren’t posting but we can share. We appreciate everyone’s support in creating a wonderful outing, and we can't wait to see you next year for the 10th Annual!
