Review by TwiceBitten

TwiceBitten I thought that was the best 2nd set of the tour so far. Much like 8/1/17 aka Maple aka Happy Birthday Jerr Bear (we miss you down here!!!) this was a set that appealed to the trifecta of heady phan archetypes (the head-trippers, the dance freaks, the centered buddhas) and one that I feel will be just slightly underrated by the fanbase for years to come. Mike's Song went type II out of the first jam and never returned to end the song proper. Next up we get some really fresh Phish with Trey riding these dark gnarled melodies over the broken funk of the Ghost jam. Big Red shows the haters who's boss with back to back type II spiritual new age AA bangers before reminding us that the Circus is indeed in town and closing out strong with a faster than usual (for 3.0) Weekapaug. One for the record books, listen to set II straight through. First set highlight was Wolfman's, though Kill Devil Falls briefly flirted with the dark side, Theme shredded as per usual and playing the Velvet Underground well never be considered "a bad idea".

Review by Col_Radicones_Ascent

Col_Radicones_Ascent Still looking for my face...if anyone finds it message me so you can mail it back. That Mike's Groove...I...I just need a day or two to unpack that. This was #30 which I know is baby steps compared to some but what a way to do it. 6 000 capacity venue on a crisp fall night in TN...check strong first set with rarities and incredible playing...check, a second set that just kept delivering...check.
I had a great time and I think the new songs have really come into there own. Set your soul free while treads that whole "soul" motif it really had the band and trey especially singing at such a high level. I will leave the details to the scholars. At the end of the day check out Wolfmans and all of second set....oh yeah and tweeprise opener.

Review by Gumbo72203

Gumbo72203 The full arrow -> segue into Ghost is a little misleading. The band didn't stop playing, but it was not a smooth transition into Ghost... it was a little jumbled. Not like the Everything's Right -> Cities from Albany at all.

However, both jams are stellar. I'm curious if anybody can figure out what the noise is during the Ghost peak from about 6-10 minutes? There is some kind of crackling going on all the time.

Review by Moorephishphan9

Moorephishphan9 This was my wife’s birthday show! Great venue with a beautiful Nashville skyline! The Tweezer Reprise out the gate was amazing! Cool it down was very nice to hear and an overall really well played and great vibe first set. The Mike’s Ghost was something special. Nice funky Paug with a loving cup. I love this venue. We had a great time the whole day and Phish always delivers! Great crowd too! Much love

Review by PauperCaspian

PauperCaspian Beginning around Ghost's 10:13 mark and crescendoing around 10:41 I can hear at least the fuzzy outlines of a Third Stone from the Sun tease from Trey. It's definitely not as tight as the tease in Weekapaug, but definitely caught my ear the first time I heard it and wonder if it was Trey maybe warming up to it or something (and really wonder if it's those Halloween rehearsals leaking out.... ;) Hendrix suite tonight let's go!)

Review by youenjoymyghost

youenjoymyghost First set showed a band having great fun with inspired playing. Party time featured page laying down the sauce. Old home place is always a welcome edition. Cool it down was great to hear again. Felt like this theme from the bottom featured trey playing very well to a nice peak.

Second set Mikes song took no time to dive into jamming, that song not finishing is pretty rare. Into ghost was a little rough. During the ghost jam I heard trey working his way into a blissful jam before mike turned on his effects and took it the total opposite direction down a darker path. It got a little messy with effects at least from the soundboard perspective and got a little hard to hear but about 3/4 in ghost dropped into a nice funky jam! Everythings right and set your soul free delivered consistently as always. Perfectly placed ballad from when the circus comes to town. Weekapaug had some interesting turns and playing in it. Very loose feel. Great second set. Always love a Mikes Set.
