RECORD STORE DAY: REPORTS FROM THE FIELD

8:30 a.m.: It appears the Phish 7-inch and Foo Fighters cover album went as quickly as tickets to the last LCD Soundsystem show, but everyone’s got armfuls of wax. It’s somewhat disheartening to watch some vultures grabbing up four or five copies of certain records, but such is life in the post-eBay world.

the 10 Phish albums my local store got (Shake it, Cincinnati), went very quickly. I showed up within the hour of opening, and they were all gone.

I live in milwaukee, and yes the phish sound-checks were long gone by the time I arrived.. bummer man

The best move I made was skipping Amoeba Hollywood and hitting Vacation Vinyl in Silver Lake. They had about ten copies, and made sure I got one (as I had been in contact all week with them via Twitter). Very cool store as well.

Heh, make mistakes like that all the time (see Guitar Hero article). I guess it needs a Phish slant to get our attention for Record Store Day.
