MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 100

Welcome to the 100th installment of Mystery Jam Monday here at Phish.net. As usual... Sorry, scratch that. There's nothing "usual" about this week's Mystery Jam. We will (as usual) be playing for an MP3 download, courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. But we're also going to throw in $25 worth of merch from the Phish.net Online Store. As for the MJ itself, much like the Hampton/Winston-Salem MJ, this is a multiple MJ. Therefore, we won't be using the comments to guess this week. Instead, send your SINGLE guess to [email protected] If you have any questions, you can post those in the comments section. The first person to correctly identify the song and the date of each jam will be the winner. One guess per person per day (with the second “day” starting after I post the hint). A hint will be posted on Tuesday (if necessary) and the answer will be posted on Wednesday. In the event no one guesses all of the Mystery Jams, the winner will be selected by the Blog at its sole discretion.

Before I go, I'd just like to say how much fun I've had hosting the Mystery Jam for the last 100 weeks. Hopefully all of you have enjoyed playing. If you have, one great way to show it is by clicking on the "Make a Donation" button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and making a (tax-deductible) donation to the Mockingbird Foundation. Just like Phish.net, the Mockingbird Foundation has an all-volunteer staff, so virtually your entire donation will go towards music education for children. Every donation is appreciated, regardless of size. And this will conclude the pledge-drive portion of the Mystery Jam. Feel free to brag about your donation in the comments, though. Good Luck...

Tuesday Update: We're going to change things up and give everyone an extra day to submit their guesses. Hint tomorrow, answer on Thurs.

Wednesday Hint: No one has solved it yet, though two of you are very close. Here's your hint: In no particular order, the MJs are from '93, '94, '95, '98, '00 and '11. Good luck.

Thursday Answer: Congrats to @bl002e, who managed to come up with all six Mystery Jams. It was hint-aided, but still pretty damn impressive to get all six. In order, they are: (1) 4/2/98 "Stash," (2) 5/28/94 "It's Ice," (3) 11/30/95 "Tweezer," (4) 5/28/11 "Halley's," (5) 4/23/93 "Weekapaug," and (6) 7/1/00 "Ghost." See you all on Monday For MJM Part CI...

, comment by pauly
pauly very cool list of jams you chose!
, comment by Doktahgonzo
Doktahgonzo I'll trade my 2nd guess for all of your solid opinions...sound fair?

Seriously though, there are a couple there that I know I have heard, but totally cannot place without doing getting deep into it, and there are several where I am sure of what song it is as well, but cannot place them.

This is begging for, and I would love to see, Rebaldy NAIL this. He's restrained himself of late, but I want to see him hit it right on the head because he's just too good at this.

TimberJeremy some of these are easy to tell the song, but not which particualr version. I know the 3rd or 4th if anyone wants to trade for any others.

uctweezer What's up with trading?

bl002e Just to make sure I'm not crazy here, there are 6 jams for this one, not 5 like with the Hampton/W-S contest, right?

Well, either way, I've got the first and the last one, and strong ideas about the 2nd and 3rd ones. I'm guessing you're a hell of a lot closer than I am, though.

phootyjon wow; my brain is melting...so let me get this staight - 6 tracks from 6 different shows..I would def look at the 1996 Vegas show on 12/6 for one of them; I remember there being a stupid balls out Llama in Set 2 that sounds like the 6th track....also hear a YEM, Tweezer, and a Birds in the mix....maybe a Ghost in the 4 spot....good luck phishtorians.
, comment by TimberJeremy
TimberJeremy the 4th jam is far from a ghost. The sound quality of the 4th should give away which era it was in almost immediately
, comment by phootyjon
phootyjon why can't i place the 4 spot; @wolfman - good point re:the sound quality. the give away starts at 3:25ish...still can't hear it right; damn!
, comment by berto
berto I undoubtedly have 4 if anyone wants it.
, comment by bl002e
bl002e If someone has #3, I can trade you another one. I have my strong ideas, but I haven't been able to find it yet, so I'm wondering if I'm way off on the song and/or the era.

WayIFeel Been listening to the full versions of MJM100 songs and I have no idea how @bl002e sniffed out that particular Tweezer segment.

Yeah, that was the hardest one, and I've listened to that Tweezer a bunch of times. Figured it was probably a Tweezer (gave Bowie and Stash outside chances), and although I could only really be sure it was from the '93-96 era (Page's piano removed pre-'93 from the pool), for some reason I convinced myself it was probably '94, possibly '93. Got all of the other ones on my first guess, so when the clue was given the next day, I knew it had to be a '95. Listened to all of the '95 Tweezers from phishows.com (skipping around quickly in 30-second segments), and of course it had to be one of the last ones of the year. :)

Love these multi-jam MJMs! (Although I was able to get zero of five for the H/W-S giveaway.)

That is a very particular order, actually.
