lexmcglock Allowing water into the venue. Not sure if that's the band or venue policy but either way that's really great. We've all seen that person who's had too much and too little water.

BuffaloKen Reba snuck a boulder through security, then reba tried a cable and a tree, Reba snuck in a game, lipstick, perfume, flypaper?, then a razor, some prunes and a needle, but no camera...tag it, that bag it, is a felony to bring it indoors, they tag it, then bag it, that bag you tried to bring indoors...

BuffaloKen ps- i guess, if i had to pick an album other than "thriller" (30th anniv), "houses of the holey" (40th), i'd have to go with "the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust" (40th anniv of movie release. watch, they cover junta.

I was calling "Thriller" also because of the 30 year thing. Not to mention perfect for Halloween. Too obvious though. I also think any Zeppelin would be kind of a "shit, couldn't think of anything better to cover" choice. If they did do a Zepp album, I don't think it would be one containing any regular covers like I or Houses.

, comment by JettaJ
JettaJ So you can bring a camera but no case to protect your camera? Seems a little rediculous.
, comment by Frothy_Cap
Frothy_Cap The picture you posted is could misleading. You're not allowed to bring ANY bags into the venue.
, comment by Sergio
Sergio This should be the policy at all shows. Might help elevate those who think their bag should take up a seat or standing spot. They should also outlaw clothing; just to be safe.
, comment by shaunfunk
shaunfunk For the Halloween 2010 run, the entire boardwalk hall staff was extremely lax..Even getting into the show a few minutes before showtime was a hectic and but enjoyable. The mob of costumed phans in high spirits had even the security guys cracking jokes. The vibe was jovial and security was trying to get everyone in quickly. When i arrived at the gate for my complementary pat-down, I got hassled for my costume's most important accessory. I was dressed as an Atlantic city 'shoobee' with a metal detector. Of course it wasn't a real metal detector. It was constructed from glow sticks and clear packaging tape. One of the security guards liked my humorous nod to the local summer staple and let me in without too much of a fight. How those guys convinces the guards to bring an that giant inflatable raft however, is another story.

no poster tubes either
, comment by RunawayJim
RunawayJim I have to wonder if those clear bags will actually be allowed. The PDF that's linked says "no bags." I have to assume that means no bags at all, not even clear bags.

, comment by ocean_sing
ocean_sing What an absolute joke. Why is this policy being enacted? Is there reports that the terrorist threat has been raised for Halloween this year? Should we be scared? Tell us, Boardwalk Hall. We in America need to know how to safely have fun and what not to do.
, comment by BuffaloKen
BuffaloKen there's all sorts of mystery items i can still hide with a clear bag- it's called carry shit in my hand, how often do they slap you a high 5 or shake yer hand as you stumble through the gates, face-sweating like a champ and eyes confused behind some off-tint sunglasses!?!?!?! WHOOOOOOOOT!!!! LOOK(out) FOR THE WHITE RABBIT IN PLAID SHORTS, is all i gots to say!
, comment by gratefulterp
gratefulterp bags hold up entry. a lot. i've never needed to bring a bag in a show. my wife does not bring her purse. there's normally nothing you cant fit in your pockets that you need.

@ocean: run like an antelope, out of control and don't bring a bag. you should do just fine.

much ado about nothing, imo.

phishvt The "Absolutely No Bags" policy for these shows have been lifted. My wife emailed the GM of Boardwalk Hall after trying to figure out what to do with a costume with absolutely no pockets. I didn't expect a reply, but a few hours later this came back:

We have reconsidered and will be using our standard bag policy for these
shows. Please look at our website later today for the size bags that are
permissible. Sorry for the confusion.

Whereas the PDF that say "no bags" hasn't yet been updated, the piece in the guest policies page here http://www.boardwalkhall.com/gstpol.asp#search has been updated and the no-bags policy removed.

Cheers and see you all in AC!

, comment by BeneathTheDirt
BeneathTheDirt I'm getting really annoyed with the no bag policies. I don't want to bring a backpack... I want to bring a 100% empty camelbak. 20oz of water is not nearly enough for a 3 set show. So now I'm just gonna shove it down my pants and sneak it in. And since they won't search it I could bring pretty much whatever I want.
