The Mockingbird Foundation and The Phish Companion, 3rd Edition, will get some news coverage over the radio waves (and through the interconnected series of tubes) on Tuesday morning, courtesy of Vermont Public Radio.
Mockingbird Foundation Board member, Phish Companion contributor, occasional fake narc, and generally swell guy John Demeter was invited to VPR's studio last week for an interview with Mitch Wertlieb to talk about the Companion, the Foundation, and our charitable mission.
If you live in or near Vermont*, there is a good chance you know Mitch (70+ Grateful Dead shows dating back to 1973) as VPR's long-time host of the weekday Morning Edition program. Beyond capably and comfortably delivering the news through our wake-up hours, he delights listeners daily with the music beds that run between stories, often starting us off on a bright note with interludes of the Dead, Phish, and other great sounds one might not expect to hear on a morning news program.
The story is scheduled to air as part of Morning Edition over the airwaves and via stream on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 8:44 AM EDT. It should be available for relisten on VPR's website shortly thereafter.

We are grateful to Mitch and the Vermont Public Radio team for the opportunity to share a little bit or our story with Vermont and beyond.

And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
