The thing about the tease chart that most stands out to me is wide variety of musical influences on the band. A rare few people will find all of that on their own...but for most people it directly ties back to music education. Without music teachers and professors over the years, I would never have known about Thelonious Monk....John Coltrane.....Weather Report.....Bach....Tchaikovsky....Cole Porter...Coltrane......and many others. It is no insult to say that Phish are standing on the shoulders of giants.....without music education, all of the fantastic music Phish has dished out over the years wouldn't be possible.
