The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
A: As a fan and collector of AJ's work, I was there trying to buy posters several times in the past when his website failed due to Phish fan traffic. His servers had similar meltdowns, until he switched to the current provider. I've since participated in a few of his "high demand" onsales and they have gone off without a hitch.
We have a week to regroup and battle harden AJ's servers. He's just as embarrassed about this as we are; we all want what the fans deserve: a glitch-free selling process that gives everyone a fair shot at a print.
Our problem today was that, while we warned Port Merch what would be coming, they were not as ready as they needed to be. AJ knows what's coming. He's seen it many times before, knows how Phish fans buy, and will do his best to have a store ready for this.
In the end we're just trying to get you guys some prints. Again, I'm sorry it has been so hard.
