For the record, Trey did make a couple of references to Jerry before they covered Terrapin... On 9/30/95 at Shoreline, just a couple months after Jerry passed, Trey said that Shoreline was the last place they had seen him play, and they proceed to play "Blue and Lonesome" and dedicated it to Jerry. Then on 7/31/97, also at Shoreline, Trey teased "Happy Birthday" during "Weekapaug", and then explained that he played it for Jerry, whose birthday it would be at midnight, and said that Phish would continue to keep his spirit alive through music for years to come.
