The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

For what it's worth, I think Phish 2013 is miles ahead of Phish 1.0... apples/oranges, I know... 1.0 was great b/c it was all new and bizarre (Phish playing truly original, composed rock music with occassional improv). Plus, the venue intimacy, banter, community... "An Evening with Phish"... some of the best times of my life.
But, despite the glowsticks and chatty cats, each and every night in 2013 you were got atleast a couple moments of sheer, improv ecstasy...or IT...as Jack Kerouac... I mean .netters like to say.
