The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
That summery, light 2011 tone Trey employed (& spacy nature of the Band), especially during those delicate Major jam bouts (such as this here Twist) always remind me of those final 6min of the Bethel Waves soundcheck. AKA one of the most beautiful movements the band has ever played IMHO.
Very strange though (and a little disappointing) that that jamming style/structure, whatever you wanna call it, never actually seeped into anything from that year onward, & perhaps didn't resurface until AC 2012's BOAF. To my ears, I will always defend pre-2012 Phish. There was a lack of huge jams in those few yrs ranging '09-'11, but the band was still shredding, and on any given night they could flip a switch (i.e. Gorge 09's Sally & Gin, Albany 7-> Ghost, Camden Chalkdust, Greek Simple, Augusta Reba, Gorge '11 via Rock&Roll!).
Perhaps every jam is only meant to BE, its only purpose is to exist as/in itself within the grand scheme of space-time/time-space that is THE PHISH... Time isn't linear. That deep & dark Wave that flowed through the little town of Bethel that night in 2011 is history, but history will be repeated.
