The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
If you love phish, this was genuinely something to experience. About the most amazing way you could see the band you love with a bunch of people who feel the exact same way. Truly. I've seen one or two other shows in my life that approached being a similar vibe. The vast, overwhelming majority of people there were just really happy to be there and were most clearly having a great time, and full on dancing was more widespread all 3 nights than any show I've seen in recent memory.
Musically, the band approached it not as a sprint, because it wasn't. All 3 nights had their moments, and all 3 nights had their mellow times. The best set award would be a tough call b/w night 1 set II and night 3 set II. But one thing that stood out to me was all of the first sets being solid. They really were.
Thank you, phish.
