Back around 2001-2004, I worked outdoors on a construction crew here in Michigan. EVERY morning, as part of my routine, I'd wake up...turn on The Weather Channel, and make coffee. For those 3 years...it was either "The Other 1" (Grateful Dead from Live Dead '69) instrumental or the "You Enjoy Myself" from "A Live One" (that 1st instrumental break with the repeating hammer-on notes) playing in the background.

It took me a few weeks to realize it!

Whoever was in charge of the background music for The Weather Channel from 2001-2004 was a Deadhead-Phishhead. God bless whoever that was...

I laugh thinking about how many old people in Kansas or Wyoming tuned in to check the weather...and had Trey piping through the living room without knowing it!

102.5 WDVE in Pittsburgh always has phish playing in the background during their morning show with Jim and Randy.

I heard that report on NPR with the Stanford Marching Band and was so stoked!!! I played Golgi and various other Phish tunes all last week for my 7th grade students while learning to use the microscope!!! Lots of vocab in that song! HAHAHA!!! My favorite is when they play Tweezer at hockey games...I've seen it during the Stanley Cup before...its the best! Also, I've heard Phish tunes during the "Weather on the 8's" portion on the Weather Channel.

Watching world cup skiing on unisport...they used "sugar shack" and "stealing time from the faulty plan" as bumpers.

Vermont Public Radio - weekday mornings - Mitch Wertlieb occasionally uses Phish as the background music between stories. Late summer I heard Mango and Foam. There have been others, I dont remember all the examples.

Immediately prior to the third period opening face-off of the hockey game at Madison Square Garden between the Islanders and Rangers on Weds night 12/16: Tweezer Reprise pulsing loudly through the arena as both teams head to the face-off circle. They played an entire version of the song for over 2:30 minutes, and got very loud with the final portion of the fellas belting as they get the game started. Fantastic!

I remember watching The Weather Channel a while back to listen for Phish during the local on the 8's. I forget the first time I heard it, but after I did I had never been more excited for my local forecast. I remeber "YEM", "Guyute", "Divided Sky", and "If I Could" all being used as background music. I became less enchanted with the weather forecast once they stopped playing Phish.
