Phish drummer Jon Fishmans's original 1967 Electrolux vacuum cleaner, which was donated to the Hard Rock Cafe on January 29, 1993, will now finally be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame itself. A gala induction ceremony will include performances by several major name-brand appliances, Tom Waits's ashtray, and a broom choir.
Artists are normally permitted to be nominated for induction 25 years after their first recording is released. Fish's lux was able to negotiate a deal for a reduction based on time served.

And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
